Trolling toward the Piquet Islands, Carl reels in a Spanish Mackerel big enough to feed us all. Snorkeling along the coral islands, we see an amazing variety of fish - and I find my favorite rock, where I like to just watch all the activity around it. Tom got some pictures with his iPhone in an underwater case. While we are sightseeing, Carl is hunting lobsters and conch, trying to learn from the master. Dave brings in 3 conchs, and after cleaning them, and the guys eating the pistols, he makes an amazing conch salad. It's fun just watching him cook and create. The bar has been set pretty high for my first conch salad experience -avocado, tomato, jalapeƱo, conch finely chopped and lime juice with a little Tabasco. It's delicious! Fortified, we head to another of Dave's special spots for an afternoon snorkel. Carl is determined to spear a lobster, and gets two this time! He brings one back whole, so that we can see it's armament - spines everywhere - along it antennas, spikes above its eyes, and sharp spines all over its carapace.
