Island Time

Sunday

We found the bakery - the Heavenly Bakery. Warm and soft, the best cinnamon bun I have ever eaten. Now I want one every morning! Two lone chairs adorned the beach giving us some fun photo time. We explored Alice Town, the high road and the low, reading the markers about the old hotels, now gone, and the exploits of Hemingway, Martin Luther King and various rum runners during prohibition. Carl, Becca and Dave joined us on our walk to get a few supplies and buns. This quaint island town, with it's bright colors and friendly people, reflects the 2008 recession in its unrealized dreams, but it has an attracting charm. Today we set out on a search for the mighty Mahi Mahi. A pleasurable day on the sea, skirting a few thunderstorms, but the fishing gods were not with us today. Lobsters will have to do. During dinner prep, Carl and Becca went to Big Game, a historic marina/bar with Marlins on the wall and colorful posters/painting along the courtyard walkway. The filet with lobster mac that Dave created was a real feast! After a pre-4th fireworks display and games of Mexican Train, we are exhausted from a day in the sun and island life. What time is it? Island Time.
